Research Center on Applied Technology of Biological Preservatives Established by TUST

  On 24th April, the opening ceremony of TUST research center on applied technology of biological preservatives (the first workshop on applied technology of biological preservatives) was held in Hexi Campus.

  President Han Jinyu addressed the opening ceremony, in which he extended warm welcome to the presence of all guests, and congratulated on the establishment of the research center. Meanwhile, Han introduced the achievements of TUST in the coordinated innovation and cooperation among enterprises, universities and research institutes in recent years, and thought highly of the role to be played by the center.

  President Han, together with Du Yazheng, the vice-chairman of China Food Additives & Ingredients Association (CFAA), unveil the nameplate. Later, deputies present at the meeting conducted deep discussion on the production and applied technology of biological preservatives.

  As one of the earliest universities in China researching on food additives, TUST has conducted a large number of researches on production and applied technology in biological preservatives. Working with leading enterprises and universities, TUST undertook scientific research projects at both national and provincial levels, and made fruitful achievements, addressing a variety of issues in theories and applied technology. One of the achievements was the industrialized production of Ɛ-polylysine and hydrochloride, which was approved in 2014 by the NHFPC to be used as food additive. The establishment of the center is conducive to integrating resources in hand, promoting cooperation among fellow universities and enterprises, as well as jointly solving scientific and technological issues in production and application of biological preservatives.
