China-Australia Program’s Commencement Ceremony Held

  On 16th June, the commencement for 2017 class of China-Australia jointly-run program of Financial Management was held in Hexi Campus. Professors from both TUST and SCU, as well as graduating students of the program and their family members attended the event and waved farewell to the four-year campus life. The ceremony was presided over by Xiong Congcong, dean of International College.

  The ceremony raised the curtain following the conclusion of national anthems of China and Australia. Prof. Lu Fuping, also Vice President of TUST, delivered a commencement address to express heartfelt thanks to the faculties, who had made great efforts to push the program, and to extend his congratulations to all the graduating students for the remarkable achievements made by them. In the speech, Lu Fuping also urged graduating students to shoulder more social responsibility to serve the country. Later, on behalf of SCU, Prof. Adam Shoemaker, Vice Chancellor of SCU, also made a speech to thank the counterparts of TUST for their industry work, and to wish all the graduating students a bright future.

  On behalf of the graduating students, one student representative addressed the commencement ceremony by both Chinese and English, retrospecting their four years’ campus life and expressing gratitude and sending best wishes to both TUST and SCU.

  Following the ceremony, degree granting was conduct. Prof. Lu Fuping and Prof. Adam Shoemaker turned the tassels and awarded both degrees for all graduating students.
