Professor Tian Wei from College of Mechanical Engineering of Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST) is on the list of World’s Top 2% Scientists (2022), released by Stanford University. Professor Tian is on the list of both career-long impact and the list of single recent year impact. He has been on the list for three consecutive years since 2020.

This annual list, released by Professor John P.A. Loannidis' team at Stanford University, was first published in July 2019. This year’s list is based on the data from 1960 to 2022. It is based on the Elsevier Scopus database that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. The world's top 2% scientists are selected from more than 7 million researchers worldwide. The list includes two rankings: career-long impact and single recent year impact. It provides a measure of scientists' long-term and recent scientific performance.

Professor Tian Wei, graduated from University of Cambridge in 2013, is a faculty member at Department of Processing Equipment and Control Engineering of College of Mechanical Engineering of TUST. His major research field is low carbon in the construction environment and environmentally friendlyprocessing equipment, including comprehensive utilization of green building energy, life-cycle evaluation of buildings and equipment, carbon emissions, urban energy space analysis, solar photovoltaic solar-thermal technology, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis, climate change and building adaptability.
